hrm, when i first got guild wars, the first thing i was considering doing was to get the LDoA. i wanted my main to have all the titles and achievements. at the time that i got it, there wasn't the 1000 daily exp quests back then. so whenever i hit level 10, i got bored of the area and decided to transfer to post. (death leveling seemed tedious)

well, luckily the title is account wide, so once you have it on one character, it counts in HoM for your whole account. i am now working on an alt just to get the LDoA. i didn't have any regrets making my main leave pre before hitting 20. i am having fun with my pre-alt and reliving the old nostalgia of pre.

though, because of that daily exp quest update, it seems a lot more people are hitting the title much faster. probably 1-2 weeks. if that option was available for me back then, i would have tried to have done it on my main. i guess i am the type that likes to have most achievements on one character. also, some people don't death level, but they use the daily quest and abandon it to retake and regrind the mobs for additional before turning it in.

if you ever feel burned out, just take a break or make an alt that will leave pre-searing.

By all means go with this title if your enjoying it keep at it.

I will add one point and then let the matter lie.

The presearing where you are now is the start area once you leave there the content you get to is really intended to provide a challenge for low level players say lvl 5 6 7 or so.

The title and staying in pre till lvl 20 is very much an afterthought to the game.

Have fun

Going against the flow here but..

Going for LDoA is a great idea .. IF you do it right, and IF you play other characters. Just leave a character and work it slowly little by little. In meantime you can play more seriously on another character and explore the world.

Here's my tip if you wanna go for LDoA:
First do a lil research (it's not dead serious) on which kind of profession that seems most fun to work on titles, that character is good to start out with on LDoA. Once you have it done, that extra title will be nice to have when you work on more characters later, especially when you go for GWAMM (ask if you still don't know what it means). Just don't rush it or it can burn you out.

Though I won't exactly endorse it as a "great" idea, if the OP enjoys grind and achievement I won't warn him away from it either -- and I would make the same suggestion.
You'll have a much richer GW experience by trying multiple professions, preferably in other campaigns so you can get their full backstory. I would actually suggest starting such characters first so you can more quickly get a feel for the different classes and determine which one you'd most enjoy spending so much time on, which you can then remake in Pre. Such a trial would only take about a day.

That way, you can break up the monotony a bit with your alts, and will have a firmer grasp on the real game and its mechanics when your LDoA gets out and starts working on survivor.

Thanks for the advice guys. I didn't realize the title was account-wide. That makes me rethink my original strategy of going about this... Lol.

With that, are ALL Hall of Monument titles account-wide?

Although there are account-wide titles, most titles are not account wide themselves.

Each character has its own Hall, but there's also an account-wide view of the hall that shows everything any character has ever unlocked.

The progress that counts towards GW2 unlocks and can be seen in the Hall of Monuments calculator is the account-wide progress.

Also, the "title of titles", a.k.a God Walking Among Mere Mortals, a.k.a GWAMM, transfers to GW2 on its own.

So to get everything you can possibly get to GW2 that we currently know it's possible, you'll need a GWAMM, and 50 points in the HoM calculator.

That can be easily done with a single character if you have all campaigns.

Some of us get even more stuff just for the sake of it.
For example, I'm getting the remaining armors in the Resilience monument and all normal mode missions and quests with all my 10 characters because... well... just because.
After that, I suppose I'll go for the 10 remaining torment weapons until I also fill the valor monument while I fill books and do ZQuests in HM, and then... well, I could go for the remaining PvP titles, but PvP has some underlying issues that I don't think will get addressed in time before they release GW2 and I stop playing GW1 as much as I do.

There's a distinction that needs to be made here- Account-wide titles are those titles that you can earn points on with any character - all PvP titles fall in this catergory as well as titles such as Lucky, Treasure Hunter, etc.

Character specific titles are titles that only that character can advance - such as the LDoA, Protector, and Survivor.

For the purposes of the HoM (and the goodied gained in GW2 through it), all titles and items recorded there (by any character) apply to the entire account. Duplicate titles and stuff will only count once.

If I get LDoA does it apply towards GWAMM on my main? Or is it solely the character that I got it on?

You can easily get LDoA in 3-4 days if you play 10h+ a day, INCLUDING breaks for sleep, bio, eating, exercises, walking the dog, and more. Getting to lvl 10 takes the longest, tbh, and then there are several milesteps to take (like 16->17, i think), but it's not all that bad.
I got LDoA on an elementalist, and as someone mentioned it earlier, just do the daily quests until you get Farmer Hamnet, then farm the bandits over and over. Here's a newbie-friendly roadmap for getting LDoA (please keep in mind it might not reflect the today's quest, so be sure to check the cycle on wiki yourself).

Thread is getting a bit derailed. Pre-searing.com is your best bet, they have lots of ossum guides, I see a lot of people posted about it + I saw a new player friendly guide somewhere in the comments. If you like grind go for LDoA, you do have other character slots if you get bored or want to try something different. Good luck!
